Personally, I don't have all the money in the world to be spending on clothes (though I really wish I did). Even though I love watching runway fashion shows and drooling over the looks the designers put together, I could never in a million years afford them. That's why I like to create almost a custom runway of my own by following fashion bloggers on my favorite app, Instagram. Fashion bloggers are the perfect compromise because they give you just the right amount of inspiration while also being relatable girls. They too don't have the budget to purchase their entire wardrobe straight off this seasons Dolce & Gabbana runway. Not to mention that these bloggers tag their photos so you know exactly where to go and pick up a piece for yourself. While there are so many fashion blogger accounts across the Internet, I do have the names of six of them who hold a special place in my heart.
1. LINDSEY REMPALSKI
In a landslide vote against myself, without a doubt my favorite fashion blogger would be Lindsey Rempalski. A graphic design senior at Chapman University in Orange County, California, as well as a Youtuber, Rempalski has no shortage of unique fashion choices. I credit her as one of the first bloggers who really helped me find my personal style by opening my eyes to the world of trouser pants and sneakers paired with floral dresses. With a gothic flair to the 1990's fashion trends we all know and love like flare pants and chunky platforms, she has a personal style to die for.
Whenever I'm looking to go out of the box with my look for the day while also staying true to my own style, Lindsey Rempalski is where I go. I would highly recommend looking into her YouTube channel as well where she posts outfit look books and styling advice for girls that want to add an eerie chicness to any outfit.
2. INTERNET GIRL
Now if you're looking for some INSANE, emphasis on the "literally so out of the box I would never even think about going there", this is the girl for you. Internet Girl, also known as Bella, is a fashion icon with her own DePop shop as well as being a YouTuber based in Los Angeles, California. She's well known for her eccentric colored outfits as well as her hair. Some of her most memorable outfits for me include wearing spiked dog collars and dangling earrings bearing the word "anxiety".
I don't normally look at Bella's account for outfits that I can recreate myself but rather for inspiration. I think every woman and girl should be as confident in themselves and their style as she is. It's so heartwarming to see her flaunting her favorite pieces, including some that she hand makes herself, wherever she goes. Everyone should follow her not only to spice up their feed but also their life.
3. LAUREN ELIZABETH
Next up is a blogger I've followed for years, for more reasons than her fashion advice and outfit ideas. Originally from Chicago, Lauren Elizabeth has made a name for herself in Los Angeles, California as an actor, blogger, clothing designer, and producer. Not only does she create incredible outfits, but now she designs her new chic line of clothing, XLE, based around two of her favorite cities, L.A. and New York City. Her style is the perfect crossover between being comfortable and chic at the same time. She's also not one to shy away from showing you that she spends some of her days on the couch in sweats rather than on the red carpet. She's known for her great basic pieces and how she can make every look seem effortless.
One of my favorite reasons I follow Lauren Elizabeth is for how real she is. Like the two girls before her, she also has her own YouTube channel where she talks about everything from her relationship to her struggles with anxiety and depression. Part of the purpose for my website is to create a relatable place where girls can come and celebrate who they are while finding fashion tips and outfit inspiration. Lauren Elizabeth's brand and account is the perfect role model for my mission. Following her will not only give you incredible inspiration, but will also make you feel like you're interacting with an old friend.
4. CLAUDIA SULEWSKI
Yet another blogger I have been following probably since I first downloaded Instagram is Claudia Sulewski. She's best friends with the previously mentioned Lauren Elizabeth so seeing them on each other's accounts is like killing two birds with one stone. She's been successful though in her own right in Los Angeles as a YouTuber and actress, while also making moves in the fashion world. The absolute perfect blend of edgy and girly she is definitely one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to fashion. Her bubbly personality perfectly translates out in her bright and colorful outfit changes and her pictures make you smile just looking at them.
Whenever I'm looking for how to spice up a simple outfit, I love scrolling through Sulewski's Instagram to get my inspiration. Her colorful pictures with outfits, that are always tagged to the store where you can purchase the piece, make it so easy to shop. It also helps me to find new stores that I've never heard of before. Following her will definitely have you smiling more than you were before.
5. KATY BELLOTTE
When it comes to following relatable girls, Katy Bellotte is definitely one of my favorites. Working for a beauty company's social media in New York City, Bellotte is also a well known YouTuber (do you sense a theme in who I like to follow yet?) as well as a designer. Bellotte definitely has the most classic style out of everyone I follow. As a New York City girl she has perfected the business casual style that I'm going to need to pay attention to when I get out in the so called "real world". Her outfits are also affordable because it's no secret that pretty much any city is expensive to live in.
Katy Bellotte is the perfect epitome of the working woman living in New York City. Her business casual style is adorable while also being trendy and easy for practically anyone to afford. It also doesn't hurt that her outfits are so real and easy to recreate with anything you already have in your closet. Scrolling through her feed feels like you just stepped right out of Sex and the City , and as someone who just finished the series I'll soak up all of the nostalgia I can get.
6. KENZIE ELIZABETH
Finally, my last favorite blogger is a special one to me because she's definitely the one who inspired me to make my own YouTube channel. Kenzie Elizabeth is a 21 year old college junior, like myself, living in Los Angeles, California. Following a college student like myself is awesome because you get the real side of seeing outfits they just throw on for class. Kenzie Elizabeth makes comfortable street style look effortless. As someone who would never be caught dead in public wearing sweatpants, she makes me want to reconsider. She'll rock Juicy Couture sweats and a Champion hoodie and make it look like she's rocking the runway.
I love following Kenzie Elizabeth for the same reason as the other bloggers I've mentioned: authenticity. Following her on Instagram makes it feel like we're best friends keeping up on each other's lives and sharing outfit inspiration. As a college student on the go, I'll take all the help I can get when it comes to outfits to wear to class and I can admit a lot of my inspiration from my previous blog post came from these girls.
All of these girls have different styles but they all bring something unique to the table. If anything gives all of these accounts a look, and even a follow, because authentic and genuine fashion content from real girls is a whole new ballgame.
I love to follow fashion bloggers. I think you make a really great point that since these girls are just like us, they create fashion out of pieces that are affordable and easily accessible for everyone. I actually don't follow any of these blogs, but I definitely will have to check them out. One beauty and fashion blogger that I follow is Lauren Curtis. I really like her style and she came out with a loungewear line that I would live in.
